Book Club Nuts and Bolts

We will be reading one book a month. We will have weekly group discussions if you are interested with a final discussion at the end of the month. The new book choice for the following month will be posted at least two weeks before the beginning of the new month. You can pick and choose if you want to participate. We will have at least one giveaway each month for our readers! If you have any book suggestions, please email either Jessica or MiMi. We are in new territory, so we might have to work out some kinks as we go along. We hope you make new friends and have fun!

Spoiler Alert Tuesday

How is the book coming along for you?
I'm not even halfway through it yet, so I'm a little bit unqualified to ask too many questions.
I went to a site where I could see if I could find any book club questions for this book and I got a major spoiler alert of my own!! I think I found out something I didn't want to know. Ah well. I still don't know how it's gonna end, so that's good.

Spoiler Alert!!
What do you all think of Salander? Why is she the way that she is? She seems to be introverted and emotionless. She is the girl with the dragon tattoo, so she has to play a bigger part in the novel than I am aware of. What are your thoughts on why she basically lets the rape go unreported? She has a lot of distrust of anyone in authority.
Why??

  1. I think she has had a very hard life and doesn't show much of herself because she doesn't want to get hurt. Her mistrust is because people in control have hurt her before. Like the rapist, he was in control of her life and freedom basically and took advantage of her. She paid the rapist back a lot worse that the police would have done. Now that was funny.

  3. I am enjoying it although I had not got to the rape part yet....although I knew there was a rape because my brother saw the movie last week and told me the scene bothered him. I dont know what to think about Salander yet, although I do agree with Melinda.
